You could check with a local nursery to see if they would order for you or order one yourself....

Laurus Nobilis Bay Laurel Starter Plant No SHIP to CA Item not Allowed | eBay

This shouldnt be confused with the native Redbay tree which is being wiped out by an Asian beetle.

companionplants.com has them for $12.

Potted Plants - Companion Plants - Laurus nobilis

I've ordered a lot of plants from them and have no complaints. They are a quality company with a great selection.

Thank you for the leads, I did find someone locally but he has the red bay and I do not think it is what I want. I will order from the internet. It is a shame because I wanted to buy locally grown plants and there are many commercial nursery places nearby but so far I have had no luck.
