Yes, we have them (EAB) in the park itself now. It was sad to hear but not completely unexpected as soon as we started seeing the purple boxes hanging in the trees along all the back roads leading towards the mountains. They made the announcement after finding them at one of the main visitors' centers, Sugarlands.

I just posted this thread cause now is the best time well actually a month ago depending on your region of the country to spray and treat for borers. One of the most destructive classification of pests for trees.

FYI arborist found some pupae casings I missed. Double

Spraying and tapping today.

Also identified that the trees have alcoholic flux, which fortunately isn't a major issue and will go away on its own.

Take care your trees people, inspect them regularly and not just the casual oh how I love the trees once over.
