bluestone for perennials. Hallson's for hostas, they test for virusx. And for roses: Chamblees (own root), pickering, and david austin, for iris, go to schreiner's, and for daylilies oakes is good.

Some great recommendations in here. I'm a beginning gardener and will visit some local nurseries in addition to browsing through some of the sites mentioned in this thread. Thanks

Oh you guys, too many choices LOL!

This is my favourite local garden center; they are amazing for annuals and heirloom vegetables. They are my go-to place for information and plants. But no single nursery can carry everything and I see perennials online that they don't carry although I will surely ask about special orders closer to growing season in late May.

Plants Delight near Raleigh N.C. sends plants all over the USA and his (Tony Avent's) catalogue is a hoot to read. His gardens are open for tours several times a year and it is a sight to behold. He has a fun Facebook page as well.

don't wait too long. With plants, you really need to know early.
