What is a healthy plant for my apartment? I have a huge bay window and it would get plenty of sun during the day. What would you recommend for an indoor plant?
I go with easy to grow things. I have or have had all of these:
-- Pothos -- Ficus
-- Philodendron -- Palm Plant
-- Sansevaria (snake Plant) -- Diffenbachia
-- Aloe Vera -- Rubber Tree
-- Aglaonema -- Dracaena
-- Jade plant -- Croton
-- Schefflera
--Peace lily (I hear and read that they're hardy, although the one I had decades ago died and I never tried it again).
Aloe has done exceedingly well in my north facing bay window. Under the right conditions they will propgate and you can pass them on to your friends. Their healing properties for cuts are well known, too.
What have I got in my window? Fig trees, dwarf citrus, a pepper plant, oregano. miniature roses, and pomegranates. Oh, and a chrysanthemum that didn't get planted out last year.
There are some good suggestions above. Some people know their plants! Add in the ponytail palm and the sago palm, if you like palms. That crown of thorns plant is also very impressive.

Your window must look like a miniature Southern California! I had a dwarf citrus but it had some problems with scales and then the leaves all dropped off..
Miniature roses sounds delightful. They are so sweet. I would never place a phylodendron in a sunny winddow. The do better in a bit less brightness.
