I've had my dracaena for over a year. It out grew its pot so I resoiled.I started to notice that the plant was withering away. I couldnt understand what was going on. I even bought fertilizer. I know that they are low maintenance plants so it was very odd to me that my plant was dying . one day I'm moving the soil around and realized that there were tons of centipedes everywhere. after researching I learned that they start eat away from the roots. The plant is about 7 feet tall adnt the pot is huge as you can imagine. Can someone please tell me how I can save my plant???
Pull it out of the pot and shake it out good. Remove all centipedes and all the soil you can shake out. If you do not have screen wire in bottom of pot cut a piece to cover all drain holes. Toss some insecticide granules in the pot and soil on top re-pot with fresh soil. Water from bottom up if possible first time. (soak in deep water bucket larger than pot) Good luck.
