Have a small Yard to mow and I have been using a simple
Push mower. Seems a lot easier then using the gas kind and worrying about things like noise, maintence, odor, gas etc. as far as the cutting goes is either type more superior than the other?
Is one type better for the lawn?

The thing that matters are far as lawn health is the sharpness of the blades, no matter which you use.

I agree, though I do think a reel type mower does a smoother job. That's why the golf course and baseball diamond landscapers use gang reel mowers behind their tractors, rather than rotary.

Ahhh, I have memories of using a reel lawn mower on my grandfather's yard when I was a toddler. Unfortunately, I now have a corner lot and a lot of grass to cut. I use a self-propelled mulching mower and I return the clippings to my grass rather than bagging them. If you can cut your yard with a reel, then good for you. The only advantage I would see is mulching if you buy a power mower that does that. I've stayed away from battery mowers because I don't think they'd have enough charge to cut my yard. Right now, I have a battery operated string trimmer and replacing the batteries is more expensive than buying a new trimmer.

Have you considered an electric or cordless mower? Less noise, no gas or oil to deal with, easy maintenance. This site has some good reviews and options - hope it helps? HomeandYards.com

Btw, please explain to me what exactly is Push mower? What am I missing? I know they are push mowers, self propelled mowers and riding mowers, those in tun are tractor mowers and zero turn mowers. Then rotary and gang reel ones, depending on cutting system. Then they are electric and gasoline engine ones (saw diesel too).
So what is Push mower?

How about this for a small yard?

Remington 16" Reel Push Mower - Walmart.com

As they work very well, actually, I have one.

Reel mowers do a much nicer, smooth cut. I have had a push model, an electric, and gas version. Now I am not that concerned about the nice smooth cut and have a huge lawn so use a gas powered riding mower (rotary). If it's really small then I'd go with push, but if it gets out of hand, like when you go away for a two week vacation, you may have to rent or borrow a power mower if it gets too high for the push mower.

I would have no problem using an old fashioned reel push mower if the yard was small enough. Used them as a kid on the small city lots in Chicago.

My yard in the suburbs is too big for that and I have a lawn service do it. I don't really have the time and it's worth every penny.
