Hi all:

I posted a while ago, I semi burnt my lawn with too much Nitrogen. we recently moved to FL and I never cared for this type of grass before. Lawn is great in spots and orange/dead in spots.

So, at the suggestion of several people more experienced than me, I went to a reputable landscaping store and bought some trays of Floratam grass plugs. I dug holes in the needed areas, planted the plugs with a little plug start fertilizer and a scoop of great compost/potting soil that I bought from a local nursery (everything I've planted in it so far from a small lime tree to a palm tree to purple heart plants, crotons, even a pineapple seem to love the stuff)

I did all this on Saturday and Sunday. After only 5 days, the plugs all seem to be doing well, growing, and I think they are called the "runners" are growing out of the plugs sideways as this grass does. How does this work, do the plugs eventually intertwine with each other and the runners put down new roots? I know I cant mow them them now because that would only break apart what I think they are trying to do.

I've kept the plugs moist and we had a couple thunderstorms since I planted them, and they all seem nice and green on top but the lawn looks freaky with plugs in parts, brown in parts, green in parts, and the plugs dont exactly match the texture/coarseness of what was sodded originally when the home was built last year.

Thanks for any help as I'm new with all this southern lawn care
