The following is from Tony Avent, Owner of Plants Delight in Raleigh N.C. Nurseries all over the country are having financial troubles. If we don't support them we will lose some very important resources for our gardening passion.

In other news from the nursery world, Scarlet Tanager CEO, Niles Kinerk, tells us that because sales have rebounded this spring, he will be able to scale back both Spring Hill Nursery and Michigan Bulb and not close them in June as he had previously planned. It's always good to avert another significant loss to the mail order industry!

I am all for supporting local nurseries, but the ones around here never label or price their plants. I got tired of having to chase down an employee to ask a simple question about the plants, that I gave up. Now I usually go to Lowe's or HD.

I have been a customer of Springhill and Michigan Bulb, so I'm glad they will go on selling.
