last year I lost mine to some sort of disease which was rampant around here. I know there are many varieties and somebody last year mentioned a few to try but I can't find that now. Anybody have a list of varieties which are not as susceptible to disease?
Bought basil seeds at Home Depot last year (2 types, in fact). Of all of them, only about 6 or 7 ever sprouted and they quickly damped out and died. I'd avoid seeds.

I too have had some problems with growning herbs from seeds. I had a little success this year, still I will continue to grown them from plants already started. One plant can produce a lot of basil. I know a lot of people say growning from seed is easy, I guess my green thumb turns brown when it comes to herbs and seeds. I do have a lot of herbs planted this year, but only a couple are from seeds.
Why do I feel this is a spam post to promote someone's web site?
The joke's on them. Most of us won't take the time to look up something unless it has a link.
I was curious and it is an informative article he seems to have written about basil and how to grow it. Couldn't tell if it is his own website or just an article he wrote.
