These are some very important points to remember. Especially little kids don't do well on garden tours. They get hot and tired and cranky. Strollers don't always work in private gardens either. I would suggest getting a sitter to really enjoy the tours of multiple gardens. And don't ask your hostess to use her bathroom.

My Atlanta gardens were on several garden tours to help raise money for charities. I was astounded at the number of people who asked to tour the inside of the house "since we are here and we always admired this home". Also no hostess wants to leave her garden to escort somebody to use the bathroom. it is rude to ask, even for a child and of course nobody in their right mind would allow a stranger inside unescorted.

The tours I especially enjoy are the ones with lots of labels. I personally have professional labels in my garden(I don't like the plastic ones from the grower) not only for visitors but mostly for me and any helpers so we don't yank out something early in the spring thinking it is a weed. I once heard some ladies criticize my use of labels saying it looked like a garden center and then the next thing I knew they were pulling them up to write down the names of the plants they liked.

Also had somebody who thought it was funny to switch labels when nobody was looking.

Garden tours are wonderful ways to learn for the visitor and to share for the host/hostess.
