A Wrist Rocket slingshot might be just the thing:

Perhaps with some marbles, or if you want to go biodegradable, maybe some chestnuts or something as the ammo.

Never ending game. As soon as you have a winner, they overcome the challenge. Sort of like trying to get the deer to stop eating in your gardens. Not going to happen. The lists above are good. Hanging the feeder from a wire attached to a tree helps...but then they "jump" and most of the time ace the landing. Tenacious little buggers, they are.

this is disgusting and my ex husband bought one of these for my son and he was constantly shooting things with it and I was peed at the ex and my son and I hid the darn thing and found it ten years later cleaning out the garage and I threw it away . I think getting stuff like that encourages meaness and cruelty .

Just buy a squirrel proof bird feeder like the Brome Squirrel Buster. I've had mine for close to a year now and squirrels haven't been able to steal seeds from it even though they've tried many times. They eventually gave up.

My feeder may not look the best but it is Squirrel proof. I sunk a 2x4 in the ground and set a large clay pot on top of it upside down. I nailed 2 smaller pieces of 2x4 to the Top of the board so the pot had something to set on. I set a plate of food on the pot. The Squirrels can climb up the board but can't get a grip on the slick clay pot. i ended up putting a wire cage around the pot to keep out the doves. Bluejays and smaller can get through the green coated wire but Doves and larger birds are out of luck.

First question: do you want squirrels chewing into your attic and ruining your house? Don't feed them! They are tree rats and can damage your home beyond all imaginiation. Here I am $15k later after repairs. I didn't feed them, but my A@# H*&( neighbor did.

Grease the pole - spray it with Pam.

Otherwise go to the Wild Bird Store and they have squirrel proof feeders, but the squirrels are very crafty...

I tried every method i could think of to keep the squirrels out of my bird feeders and came up with the attitude that squirrels are part of the garden community as well as the birds and buying bird seed in bulk is rather inexpensive, obviously i lost the battle with the little varmints and came to the conclusion they earned their paltry amount of bird seed.
