I had never heard of some of these products but some sound very promising and here in the South bugs can be a big problem.

Interesting! We don't have too many problems with mosquitos but I put mosquito dunks in all my standing water - pond, individual water gardens, anything with still water. Unfortunately the raccoons think they're donuts and often eat them!

No dogs for me. I'd rather have a nice yard.

The best way to control mosquitoes in your yard is to make sure you don't have any standing water, even in the bottom of self-watering flowerpots. If you do have any standing water that just has to be there, like a pond or the puddle from the air conditioning condensate, use mosquito dunks or the granular form of mosquito dunks. It has an enzyme that is only harmful to mosquito larvae, so you can use it in containers that pets drink out of or in water that other critters are visiting. You have to put more out once a month and it takes about a week to notice a difference when you first start using it.
