We stack up concrete blocks and then pile soil inside to make raised bed gardens. It's kinda like bucket gardening on steroids.

You could make a smaller version for something that would be bigger than buckets but smaller than most gardens.

Where I live the soil is poor and very sandy.
That is what I do, use the blocks for raised beds for flowers. I only use them one high,
on their sides, and it works quite well, I have been impressed. Then usually once a year
I add Black Cow Topsoil, for fresh growing soil. They work great.
I am growing tomatoes in pots, just 2 big pots this year. They are doing fine.
I just put the tomato cages right in the big pots and they grow through them.
I use concrete blocks though, not cinder blocks. They must weigh 40 lbs a piece.
That is why I can get away with only using one high.
Where there is a will, there's a way. LOL
