Hello,

I found a sample of this large shrub that would make a good windbreak and privacy fence. It is about 10 to 12 foot tall in Iowa. (Zone 5).

Does anyone know what it is? BTW, I have 2 acres in heavily sprayed corn and bean farmed land. This has proven resistant to herbicides, so it might be a good choice.

Thanks!

If it is a boxwood, it is a great hedge-making shrub:

I'm taking a wild stab, here... Iowa's out of my range, sorta.
And, here's a link.

I agree, Privet. Can be quite invasive in certain areas of the country. You might wanna check if you are allowed to plant it in your area.

Hi folks,

Googled other Ligustrum amurense pics and looks like a match. The leaves are somewhat round at the tips compared to many other pointier plants.

Appreciate your help. My wife likes privets because they turn. We had small ones at our previous city home.

Thank you very much!
