I have a LOT of crocosmias in my beds, but because of their aggresssive invasions I have tried to get rid of them all. Last fall I took a shovel and thought I did a complete job of removing all the bulbs. But this spring some still came back, so I snipped off the tops of the growth and brushed them with Round Up. It killed those but it didn't prevent new growth, and with the onset of other plants I ended up ignoring them. Now I have too many again. I love crocosmias, but I wish I never planted the darn things.
Has anyone removed all traces of crocosmias with success?
If they are interspersed with other plants you are doomed! Nothing short of digging up the entire bed a foot down will rid you of them. And even at that there are doubts.
