I had a lady who was going to send me a big box of starter plants of African violets because she knew I loved them and I sent her a money order to help with shipping costs . Well her daughter emails me and lets me know that she has passed away and she cannot find the money order that I sent her mother . The daughter says she has no idea how to send them and is at a loss as well . what would you do I'm out the money and the plants . I think the daughter must be at a loss as well . She has not mentioned how much the money order was or any of that ? I told her how much the money order was for , I don't think the daughter has the money to return it . this just happened an hour ago , the daughter getting in touch with me . the only reason she knew about this was she was checking her mothers emails and saw mine . I guess she is getting things in order no loose ends .she sounds sincere so I don't think she is trying to avoid me I think she wants to know what she can do ? what would you tell her ? I mean I cant really afford to be out 20 dollars . Let me know what you would do thanks .
If she can't find the money order I bet mom cashed it. If not and it's "lost" you can try and cancel it if you have the receipt. Google how to do that. Sounds like the daughter would have no clue what to send or how to send so getting your $20 back is the main goal. Good luck!

You just may be out the $20; the daughter you are dealing with is "out her mother" and has the expenses of burial and closing her accounts. $20 was for plants....it would be gracious of you to tell her how sorry you are at the loss of her mother....and let it go. Your remark about her cashing it and then dying....seemed a bit insensitive.....but I accept you meant it some other way..

as a matter of fact I did send a condolence card and I told her in a email that I was very sorry for her loss and to forget about it , this is not a time to worry about that . so yes it is not a big deal to me .
