I am tired of searching online because there are lists, but very little pictures of these plants that correspond with the description.

I need some ideas that my dog won't die from, has flowers, is ok with some shade and is perennial. We live in Texas. Thank you SO much!

Where in Texas?

What color(s) do you like?

Do you want flowers in a certain season? Multi-season?

How much shade?

What type of soil?

How much water does the area get? Is it dry? Semi-moist? Moist?

Are there other plants in the area?

Do you use fertilizers? What type?

80% shade
rocky soil
dry
no fertilizer
no other plants
flowers-any color, any season

Try Mexican Sage, or Compact Texas sage. The latter has really nice, silvery foliage and small purple flowers. Draws butterflies too.
The latter makes a great bush. The former will too, but must be pruned a couple of times of year to stay in shape. Google image them, very nice plants that will do well in your climate.
They do well in full sun, but mine get protection from the strong afternoon sun and do well in that environment too, so I guess can take some of the partial shade you mentioned.
