I have a collection of bowsaws from 12 inch to 36 inch, what I like is that the blades are easily replaced and inexpensive. From 1992 to 2000 I lived deep in the woods roughing it, lived in a tent for two years, used a bow saw to cut my firewood and found that I could cut down a tree with a 16 inch diameter trunk with a 36 inch bow saw and then buck the tree up with the same saw. I run a garden service now and my choice of saw is still a bow saw.
Buy an 18v powered recip saw. Way faster. Those saws you pictured will get stuck in the middle of the limb as you cut and it pinches the blade. Been there done that. Bought a recip saw and never looked back. My Ryobi recip saw was $40.

Ditto on a reciprocating saw. It saves me so much energy and time. I use a battery-operated one to prune tree limbs and even cut down a tree 12 inch diameter. If you're young & in shape, knock yourself out with a hand saw, but if you are old & have a desk job like me, I let technology be my friend.
