I'm in zone 7, I believe. We had a very warm December, but it is starting to get down into the 20s at night. I live in a wooded area, but there are some small enclosed flower beds at the edge of the downstairs patio. I thought I would try just a few cloves.

You can just make sure to cover it with something like straw.

Hopefully you've been keeping the bulbs in cold but not freezing temps to get a great break out in spring.
