I've decided to just stick with seeds I can find in stores this year. I'm really hoping to get more production this year, so sticking with the tried and true stuff is more appealing to me right now than going for the unusual cultivars that you have to order from catalogs.
I decided not to start my own seeds this year, because I will be away next week, and was afraid they would die. I'll just go crazy at the garden centers instead. It isn't as though I plant a lot, so it will not be that expensive. It is just 31 days until the last chance of frost here, so it won't be long.
I did just order some dahlia bulbs and I look forward to trying them in the bed outside my kitchen window.
Nope I have enough left over from last year and traded with a few people on here so I have enough ...thanks to all and hope we have an early spring I'm tired of winter and cold .
No I have not. Life seems to keep getting in my way! If anyone is looking for a good online seed supplier, I found this site roughly six weeks back, and looks quite promising. (Has it been six weeks already!)
zone 4a here and I think about 12 weeks to May 15th and traditional last frost.
did order a few trays and cells to replenish my supplies and started the process with some of the seeds needing to be refrigerated and have already started some of those that have proven to be slow growing, or difficult to germinate in the past such a Astilbe.
Have lots of selections ear-marked in the catalogs but with the premium you seem to pay for ordering from the pretty catalogs, I may continue to stick with the past years' leftovers or the big box store for the most part.
I have enough room and lights for about 20 flats and with planning to get an earlier jump on the tomatoes will be using every square inch of space available.
