Hi, we bought a home this past Fall. There's plenty of area to garden. There's one issue. The family that was here before never had a garden. I am planning on making some raised beds, but I also want to make a small traditional garden. There's one big issue for me...they had a big dog for several years in the fenced in back yard and there was LOTS of pooh out there. Any suggestions for how I can make a new garden?! All I can think of is the dog pooh that was out there being soaked into the earth. Thank you.
My thought is....Till up the ground in the area you want the garden. Add a few inches ( as many inches it takes to make you fell better about the old dog poo) of nice good garden dirt and compost on top of that.
