I actually have this plant and would've responded with the name if I saw the thread earlier. It is an excellent plant. I have it about 5 ft from a north facing window and the leaves, while not the bright lime green they were before, are still lime green but just a tint darker.

It's said to be a slow grower. How slow does it grow?
Why does it change color. I noticed that some are lighter and some are darker. Is it due to age/size? As it gets older/bigger, it gets darker?

I like it slightly darker lime green.
I have one that is over 9 feet tall, got it as a cutting from one of my clients, it snapped off of her very tall, 14 foot, corn plant. Mine was about 6 feet tall when I got it about 8 years ago and now has a satellite plant that is over 6 feet tall and a few more short ones. If it gets too tall, just cut it short, replant the top and the old plant will put out branches. My plant really gets very little direct light, is in the center of the room away from all windows, closest window is maybe 12 feet away. It is dark green and full and in the same pot I put it in when I got it.
I have a second corn plant, it is in a bathroom right under a skylight, it started out at about 2 feet tall and is maybe five feet tall now over the same time frame as the one in no light, this one is a brighter green. More light, a brighter green, slower growth and thicker stem, in dim light it gets tall and lanky and the foliage gets dark.
