I used it in Oregon to keep deer away, but it attracts dogs, cats, opossums, raccoons and bears. Not worth it.

What can I tell ya? I had a flower box on my fire escape that was getting ravaged by the critters. I added dried blood. I watched them approach one day and they fled in a panic. The flowers grew unmolested.

I now add it around my blueberry bushes and they back off. The birds are another story.
The image of squirrels fleeing in panic made me laugh.

It kept the deer off my hostas last year, except for one that got chewed late in the season. They say to apply twice a year, once in spring, and again in July which I didn't do. I'm going to try it this year around my fruit trees, shrubs and perennials that are susceptible.
