I share 2 great options for fall fertilizer if you have a Bermuda or Zoysia grass lawn. I cover an option from Lebanon Turf's Country Club line for my early fall fertilizer. I'll close out fall with an application of Milorganite which is a very slow release fertilizer.
My local HD just got a fresh stock of Milo in stock.
Time to stock up.
I learned my lesson and stocked up. Bought enough to last me to middle of next summer given my application rate. Hopefully next spring I can locate the balance of what I need for 2021.
Now is the time of year to stock up for next summer.
As long as you've got the space to store it definitely worth picking it up and saving it over the winter time frame.
Put down a synthetic application yesterday and will follow it up with another one in about 6 weeks.

Was going to put down one more application of Milo, but figured I would hold that until the spring for now.

I put another application down. Another month of outdoor weather and then that is it. Growth is slowing, and I find i'm using the mower more for leaf pickup.
This summer was brutal on my lawn. Lost a few patches which the fall overseed didn't completely fill back in. I'll try a dormant overseed in a few areas.
I was tempted to do the same, but holding off until spring.
Instead I have been doing high nitrogen with some potassium fertilizer applying every 6 weeks. Have one more to go.

We had a professional tree company here a couple of months ago, and while here had the soil analyzed - perfect ph. So I’m sticking with the basic 10-10-10 as it provides all of the needed elements without risking the ph balance. Seems to be working pretty well. I do have a massive jug of chelated iron that I’ve not used yet. Might spray it before thanksgiving to green it up, but not in too much of a hurry. I like milo, but the smell kind’ve got to me for some reason. I’ve spread everything from soybean meal (smells like rotten garbage for a week as it breaks down into the soil), to chicken and cow crap - a real fly infested mess - but only the milo seemed to bug me. I’m guessing too much cheese from the cheeseheads that produce the stuff! Ha!!
This reminds me of a book I read years ago called Toxic Sludge is Good for You. Just out of curiosity I looked up this product on their website prwatch.org, and learned enough that I know I’ll never put this stuff on my property.
I tried a number of organic lawn fertilizers this summer and still none of them really compared to Milo. In the warm months it's my go-to fertilizer.
Now that fall has set in and getting kind of late in the season I've been going to synthetic route. High's in the next couple days to the week or unusually warm around 70°, so I think I'm going to put down another round of Scott's winter guard fertilizer.
