In summers I keep it short, I usually scarify in spring. I cut it very short so I can get rid of weeds. Plus, I like walking on grass so the short and soft healthy grass feels good

It has probably already been posted in this thread but mowing high helps prevent weeds and keeps your lawn healthier. It only took me about 20 years to finally understand this.

Cannot say it enough...amazed how people think it is still better to scalp their weeds/grass.
