We had a rain/wind storm yesterday... Time to blow

Funny how 1 Pin Oak is now almost bare and the other is not dropping leaves yet. No hard freeze yet and I believe that's why they are dropping. Freezing temps makes leaves stay "stuck" on the twigs much longer

Another view with the sun hitting it.

Aaaaahhhh...and there they go with the fall color.

My dad loved trees and planted a pin oak before they became such a "problem" tree but it grew up tall and straight and beautiful, shading the west side of the house. I got to mow around all dad's trees on our near-acre yard but it sure was pretty!

February 13, 2022: A light snowfall event.

These trees are amazing but I wish the one on the left loses its leaves like the sibling on the right did back in December.

I have done no pruning or shaping except getting rid of the lower branches.

May 7, 2022: Finally coming to life. Funny cause the brown leaves just finished dropping like 2 months ago.. Spring cleanup has oak leaves everywhere. One big negative for me with these trees. In the winter the leaves continue to scatter the landscape

Man these these are a monster. 20'+ wing span now. Just 10 yrs ago they were so small

The other Pin Oak isn't as far in progress.

And just like that....Leaves... and looking massive again. Impressive trees. Never fed them. Only pruned the lower branches each year and I do so in the summer.

Check them out just 9 yrs ago vs today. Picture doesnt do justice.

And check them out just 12 yrs ago! Whoa! About a 2-3' growth rate per yr past 10yrs.

You're still lucky that oak wilt apparently isn't in your area. Summer is the worst time to prune an oak tree.

I know, you haven't had any problems yet. Knock on wood.
