I would post some pics, but I am in a rural area. The example of my state, which is relatively small compared to others is probably Columbia, South Carolina. Charleston, South Carolina is also an example of a city or some suburban areas outside the city.
I loved the pics you posted. I loved the stone sidewalks, very nice looking. Everything is really close there, even in your suburbs, but it is all beautiful and tailored.
Palm trees live here too, our indigenous palm is the Palmetto Palm tree, it is really tall, with the palm on the top.
Are you talking about the recent set of pictures, or the original link from mid-August? The water in both set of photos is the River Thames (about 14-17 miles upstream from the main tourist areas).
