I love the big pink cherry trees in the old part of town in Philly, mostly near Rittenhouse square. The flowers are big and pink with lots of petals.

They are much more majestic and beautiful than the tiny white flowers variety that the Japanese donated to Washington.

Does anybody know what variety it is? I no longer live in Philly and cannot get the picture.

Their scientific name is Prunus serrulata. We have them too, I think I like their flowers the most out of all the cherry blossoms.

That's a nice picture too btw, I like the way they're planted.
