It's not an unattractive plant, but I itch just thinking about it.

I am not allergic to it, but have to be extra careful while working with it. I loaned a chainsaw to a friend and he came down with the rash. Another friend got the rash from my Bobcat that I loaned to him. I am not irritated by the stuff, but its all over my gardening tools. The funny thing is how many varieties there are. I have also thought of using it to my advantage. At my parent's home the code enforcement (Team Metro) like to trespass on the property while making up violations. Perhaps a poison-ivy trellis could avoid this hassle!

I have never had an allergic reaction to poisen ivy. I don't even worry about looking for it in my yard or when I'm out walking. I guess if you don't break out it could be a nice ground cover. I actually break out picking tomatoes more than anything else.

Ivy Block works well. Use it on your hands and arms 15 mins before gardening if there's a chance you could come in contact with poison ivy. Then, wash very well afterward.

I've spent a good portion of my life eradicating it around the homestead...

I have a young son who is unable to play in the woods in front of our home because it is completely taken over by poison ivy. We have had to keep the dogs in the back yard, because if they go in it, and he hugs up to them, we have a problem on our hands. My son's face has been so swollen at times I hardly recognize him - and it results in a hefty doctor/medicine bill. I am anti-ivy, so if you'd like OP, come take all you want!
