Sweet Grass. It was the fragrance that predominated the ORIGINAL formula for"Herbal Essence" shampoo that came out in the mid 1970s. I remember that smell so vividly. There is also products that are produced by a company called "Sister Sky" that have this as their main fragrance.
Top of my list is ice....such as the scent of alpine icefields. Though it is hard to tease apart the scent from the feeling of that sharp chill. Next would be the conifers; balsam, fir, spruce. Next is cedar, that aromatic red cedar. I have a cedar chest I hired an Amish cabinetmaker in NY to build for me. Sometimes I just want to curl up and sleep in the thing.
Pine forests are common enough to enjoy occasionally. I’m still trying to identify the nighttime scent of nutmeg that I get occasionally...very pleasant. There’s a profusion of flower scents right now.
I did a search for this thread because I was walking the dogs today and came across a patch of Lily-of-the-Valley. I have to say that's my favorite. I do love lilac and honeysuckle but not as much.
I love Lily-of-the-Valley. I used to have a little patch in a yard at a house where I used to live.
