Your area of Tx sounds like a lovely place to live. May and June are great here too.
Yes, NE Texas is beautiful and verdant - not like the state stereotypes. It's much more like a southeastern landscape but with not quite as many trees.

I love me some NC! And VA!

OK daylilies are going crazy. Hydrangeas are in full bloom. Elephant ears are coming along very nicely and are already pretty big. Roses are cranking up for their second wave of blooms. Hostas are up but no blooms yet. Crepe myrtles haven't bloomed yet but should within a few weeks.

I planted two turk's cap bushes and I can't wait to see them in bloom. I love those!

My Virginia Spider-worts are in full bloom, as are my yellow and orange asiatic lilies. Hostas are at full size with flower spikes but it'll be another week until flowering. The purple Clematis that I had picked up two seasons ago on clearance at Lowe's spread out nicely and are in their full blooming glory.

I like blue, too! My balloon plants are a blueish, towards purple, very pretty, won't bloom until later though! Right now, I just have phlox, bleeding heart and rock cress. The rock cress (Aubrieta) won't last because rabbits eat it. Rabbits also ate my English daisy, it was so cute, pink with a yellow center.
