I've got the most gorgeous shrub at the new house. My neighbor tells me it is a dogwood.
I'd like to have more of them and would appreciate any advice abut propagating this lovely plant.
A dogwood is a tree not a shrub, so this one must be pretty small. I have had good luck digging up the new ones that sprout from the seeds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornus
Dogwoods come in many forms. I have a white flowering dogwood tree. I also have red-twig dogwoods which are bushes. And there are quite a few more in the dogwood family.
I'm wondering if it's a kousa or Korean dogwood? They look bushier with shorter trunks although some look very much like trees, trunk and all. They seem to bloom out with lots of white blossoms and dense green leaves after the other dogwood tall trees do.
Because he had an identical plant in his own yard. He was helping me with the sprinkler system and seems pretty knowledgeable about gardening. His own yard is a show piece.

Thanks for the response, but see post #6 for the correct answer.
