Tossed a bunch of Holly Tone out last weekend for all of my evergreens (3 Costco bags worth). Place stinks to high heavens now, and maybe a little early - but it was on sale and no way it was going to sit in my garage for a couple of weeks waiting for it to warm up outside. I have a lot of evergreen tree/plants/shrubs in my yard, with 14 more coming in a couple of weeks (thula green giant arborvitaes)

It has been raining all winter in SETX. I just ordered an indoor/outdoor greenhouse and some supplies to get seeds started between now and the end of the weekend. I have a 6 mo old puppy that I have to guard against - so this seemed to be the best solution. I'm going to do herbs, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. Some flowers too.

That sounds nice! I’m about to have royalty too, since I’m fixing to order some Queen Mum, white agapanthus to replace a bush I took out.

I put down fertilizer in the front beds, but still need to do the back yard. I keep a 50# bag of all purpose fertilizer for everything, except a few special blends for acid lovers, etc.

SCORE! I stopped at Lowe’s and was able to buy three big Queen Mum Agapanthus. They only had about 10, so I snagged mine before they were gone.

There are so many trees here leafing out already, and it’s supposed to get down to 28F next week. It did this last year, and a lot of tender new growth got burned.

It is very tempting to jump the gun, isn’t it? We have about 3 weeks before anything tender is officially safe, but the garden centers are full, and the plants are calling, “buy me.”

I have about 6 squash seeds sprouted yesterday, I planted them a while back.i guess the weather is just right for them to sprout. The two black beauty zucchini plants that I bought in Jan/Feb are alive but not much growth.

So yesterday I planted a few more seeds of Early Girl tomato in my garden.hopefully when the temperature is right, they will sprout.
