It's spring, and here in Virginia the pollen is falling! Everything has a nice dusting of yellow, and I'm trying hard not to sneeze too much.

In the meantime, Lowes had a sale on coleus starts, so I bought two six packs and put them in pots. It's just a little early, but since I potted them I figure I can always bring them inside if we get a cold snap.

So.... is the pine pollen good or bad for my little coleus plants? Should I try to put the pots in a fairly sheltered spot, or let them sit out in garden where they can really soak up all that yellow dust?

I've never heard of any negative effect from pollen on any plants.

Pollen is mostly protein, and it will be taken up and digested by soil bacteria and other organisms, which eventually adds nitrogen to the soil. If it bothers you, knock it off or wash it off (being careful to not overwater.)
