I am enjoying some fresh strawberries today, in a couple short weeks the blueberries should be in. I am going to eat a lot of oatmeal with berries this year. I also have a few hot peppers about 3 inches long, they are not ready for picking yet. Blackberries most likely will start next month for my patch, lots of new growth this year.

All my fruit trees have fruit, apples and pears and cherries and plums and of course peaches. Hopefully the deer will leave me some fruit to enjoy. The birds usually eat all the cherries the deer take all the plums, I get some apples and peaches and pears, and a freezer full of venison. So a win - win for me.

Missouri has been very, very good to me and my simple lifestyle. A nice cheap garden friendly kind of place, at least for me. Of course that is my opinion yours may differ.

Lucky you! The birds steal my cherries and Japanese beetles attack the rest of it.

By June, I place mesh netting on my cherry tree. It looks like it's wearing a bonnet. It's the only way I can stop Japanese beetles from stripping the tree.

For some reason, Japanese beetle don't go for my apricot tree as much, but birds so do!

I don't like fruit in oatmeal. I keep it in the side.

I cook blueberries in my oatmeal, along with cream and a few drops of vanilla and almond extract.

I have so many blueberries that I’m still using frozen berries from last year, and my bushes are loaded again right now. Our soil is so acidic down here that they really don’t need anything, they grow like weeds.
