I would like to learn, what kind of tree is that, please.
The first picture shows the whole hedge. There is a lilac in the lower left corner and a red weigela in the center, but still one can see that the hedge is about 16' high.
The second picture shows a typical flower. It smells sweet and simple, like Persian lilac. It blooms in June.
Thank you.

WOW your weigela is beautiful! The other one looks like some kind of Laurel, maybe Mountain Laurel, but not sure.

I believe the hedge is a long leafed or wavy leafed variety of the lilac flower look-alike, Ligustrum Japonicum. Also called Privet. See pictures:

I’m thinking it could be Ligustrum vulgare.

The leaves are too slender to be L.japonica, and I’m not sure if it would be cold hardy enough to be growing in the same zone as lilac either.

Thank you very much!
Flowers look very close to mine.
"Glossy dark leaf", "Waxleaf" - not correct. My leaves are dull.
However, I suppose there are many varieties of this Ligustrum.

I think Southernaturelover may have nailed it for you with the ligustrum vulgare. See pictures below, and the leaves are duller too. Also another good point SNL made - what growing zone are you in, what is your location?
