You could always plant a couple of Windmill palms there. They won’t provide shade, buts it’s greenery nonetheless.

Agreed that you need evergreen trees instead if deciduous that will drop all their leaves in the fall.

One suggestion is plan a row of Italian Cypress along your driveway. It will look good too.

thanks everyone. I will probably just do a little bed with some ornamental grass and some liriope. I don't think I want anything tall and skinny there it may look strange.
