It's a very nice 900lb statue. I am planning to push it off a box truck and land into grass. My question is, will it break if it hits the grass from about 4 feet?
A 900 lb statue can't be cheap. Why take the chance on breakage?
I'd use a few boards to make a ramp and slide it down.
This ^ is what I'd try.
Slide it down or maybe let it roll down the ramp. It might help if you put some old blankets down on the ramp first. If you have 4 or 5 strong buddies and some heavy rope to help you manhandle and shift the statue that would be a plus.
.
Is this one of those trick questions, like does a falling tree make a sound, if there's no one there to hear it?
Maybe rent a truck with a lift tailgate? That way, you could even place it on the spot you want it, or close. But how would you move it onto the tailgate?
Have you Googled this question, or looked to see if there's a video of something like that?
It's possible that if there's a minor crack, a fall of any sort will break it at the crack point.
Hie thee to the nearest equipment rental place and rent a damn fork truck. Quit fiddling around. There's no way in hell you will be able to maneuver a 900 lb piece of statuary once you get it off the truck, assuming you don't break it when you magically push it out the open lift gate (have you ever even tried to slide a 900 lb piece of concrete?)
I'm betting this is some kind of spam or troll post. Surely no one's this stupid.
