I grew this mango tree from seed a few years ago.

finally has 2 mangoes, which I want to ripen on the tree.

How can you tell if it's ripe enough by looking at it?

I have no idea what variety this is, but the seed was likely from a Philippine mango which i bought from the supermarket.

How cool! I don't know anything about mangos, but I think it's really cool that you grew one from a seed and it's producing fruit!

Squeeze gently to judge ripeness. A ripe mango will give slightly, indicating soft flesh inside. Use your experience with produce such as peaches or avocados, which also become softer as they ripen. Ripe mangos will sometimes have a fruity aroma at their stem ends.

They typically develop a “shoulder” and just a bit of a new color when
ripe enough to pick.
