mangoes in los angeles. How do I tell if they're ripe enough? (avocados, tree)

I grew this mango tree from seed a few years ago.

finally has 2 mangoes, which I want to ripen on the tree.

How can you tell if it's ripe enough by looking at it?

I have no idea what variety this is, but the seed was likely from a Philippine mango which i bought from the supermarket.
