This is a cutting of a 3 metre tall and wide tree at my old grandma's apartment back garden. The cutting is growing well and it's a year and a half old now. I used a plant identifier app and it says it's either a Hibiscus syriacus (Rose of Sharon) or a Morus alba (Chinese Mulberry). Both seem pretty close suggestions going by the leaf shape. What does it look like in your eyes?

I think you will need to wait and see what the flowers look like. Gardening teaches us patience.

Well, that's true of course. Unfortunately, the mother plant was cut down a few months ago (pretty inconvenient in my case, because now I could never go back to the neighbourhood and see it flower).

This is its best shot on Google Maps (and it's still a very vague and unclear image):

It's roundish and in the centre of the shot, by the fence...

EDIT: In this date, you can see the tree has scarlet-coloured flowers: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33....-GB&authuser=0

Last edited by Ethereal; 12-09-2019 at 06:38 AM.. Reason: Added another Google street view of the tree, where flowers seem apparent...

Looks like a RoS to me. Looking at the street view photo, I'm kinda thinking it is a 'Red Heart RoS'

If you see flowers, then its rose of Sharon. Mulberry doesn't get flowers. Just berries, that birds love, and then poop all over your car with. lol

Humans love them too. They look and taste like a hybrid blackberry and raspberry.

I don't know what it is, but whatever it is, you have planted it much too close to the building.
