I like that guy! I had a groundhog the size of a small German shepherd dog at my old house that lived under my large shed way at the back of the yard. He (I'm assuming it was a "he") never touched anything except grass and weeds in the yard; in fact, he would come way up in the yard to get some particularly tall and succulent weeds when I wasn't keeping up with them. Mostly he grazed close to the shed or lazed on the ramp up to the double door. I miss "him" and the big old possum I called "the land cruiser" that ate the excess bird seed in the small fenced portion of my yard. I have seen one groundhog here in my new yard, but he was trucking on through to the neighbor's. Maybe I can entice him to stay this year.
