The last time I read the thread she seemed resigned to letting it live there, and was thinking about putting a weazel-cam live internet feed in the attic.

I just keep the live trap set with fresh peanuts.Caught 3 last week.I have moved almost 50 now.I can really tell the differance around our home. With gas as it is they have to wait till my next trip somewhere to get released, but I keep them in a shaded area. They sure put up a fuss.I'm going to invest in a pellet gun soon.Turn them into compost. It sounds cruel and at times they are fun to watch. But they can cause a lot of home damage.

While I was contemplating buying some bird feeders, there happened to be a knowledgable 'birder' woman who gave me some helpful advice for keeping the squirrels out of the feeders.

Shake the seed with cayenne pepper before putting into the feeder. Apparently, it doesn't seem to affect the birds at all, but the squirrels don't like it.

Let's see now .. how much cayenne would one need for a yard??

Along those same lines, mix up some hot sauce (Texas Pete or something) with water in a spray bottle. Spray the bird feeder, and also, spray your rose bushes. This will kill mites on them.

Squirrels are rampant in my neighborhood. My neighbor was tired of the squirrels climbing up the pole and eating all the bird seed from his feeder. One day, he decides to take wesson oil and wax the heck out of the pole! It was quite a sight watching these squirrels attempt to climb up the pole. They would get 1/2 way up and then lose their grip and slide all the way back down! His wife looked at me and said "He needs to come out of retirement and go back to work"

I got rid of my squirrels. On a related topic, anyone know how to get rid of an owl? I think it attacked a cat last night.

Last year I "painted" my tomatoes w/a water/hot pepper sauce solution so the squirrels would stop eating them.

On a related note: the can tabs that I "topped" my planters with seems to work, I see that the critter(s) started digging but stopped

Hey, but that's pretty darn clever, methinks, *she says heading for the Johnson's paste wax.* Wonder if PAM would work, too? Oh, LOL, but I've got something to keep me busy now.
