I'm redoing my front landscaping, and changed up one of the beds. I'm pretty well done with the replanting, and just need to edge and mulch.
I was initially looking at doing plastic edging - probably the Master Mark 4" Terrace Board brown. I was planning on leaving an inch above ground, and since the bed is curvy I wasn't too concerned if it got a little wavy as some reviews complained.
As I was about to order, I thought about my landscape, and it's also hilly. The bed is on some slope I don't want to mow with my riding mower, and there are some fairly large changes in the slope from the top of the bed (flat), to the bottom (15 degree slope measured with a flat board and angle gauge). This bed is about 25 feet long.
I'm concerned that any sort of more rigid edging - harder plastic, metal - may not do slope changes well. Has anyone had any experience with this situation? I'm thinking a more flexible plastic, bricks, or rubber may be a better choice...
I am going to buy some of the Terrace Board, since I need to create a barrier between mulch and rock in a flat section. I could probably experiment with it then, if needed.
