Where are you in South Jersey? I'm near Turnersville, I haven't seen any yet this year. I have tons of flowers for them too. I haven't used a feeder in close to 20 years

So our weather has improved a bit and the strangest thing has happened. I have still not seen one hummer but I have a ton and I mean like a minimum of 5 -6 baby cardinals and wrens trying to feed. They must be getting something since the feeder is right next to my kitchen window and they are actually hanging on the screen waiting to get on to the feeder. My feeder has retractable perches so I guess it is ideal for that, but this is a first for me.

Here is nw jersey we have had our feeder out since may 1, when I observed a male on the rodos. We have a steady about 1 per hour for the last month. However, We have noticed that the numbers have been down for the last couple of years. Several years ago we were going through 250 ml every three days.

Just curious: has land use changed much over those past several years in, say, the surrounding 10 mile radius? Noticeably less green space, more building/parking lots, etc?
