They hide under my plants and eat away the roots. I pick up a half dead plant and there are 5 large snails right there. I tried beer one season, but it didn't help. Is there some kind of snail repellant I can use that won't kill anything else ( like bees and hummers)? TIA

Slug collars. I used to use metal foil tape back in WV.

I have heard putting the sweetgum balls from the tree works.

You put down little fences of copper tape for the slugs. They won't touch or go over the copper because they get tiny electric shocks off the copper. It's like a little electric fence. Here is what it looks like and how it works.

We had great success putting the copper tape around the perimeters of our raised beds. However, when California had its long drought a few years ago, most of the snails disappeared and haven't come back. They were non-native anyway, so no one misses them.

I have decomposed granite, I rarely have snails, maybe slugs. But not much damage from them.

There’s a product called Sluggo when all else fails.

Yes, this is what i use. ^^^^

They were coming to my petunias, I put that stuff down around the plant...and the next morning I must have counted
about 50 snails...i kid you not.

I get my dogs pooper scooper and throw those things away in the green garden container for pick up.

Put up a little sign in your garden. "No snails. Violators will be eaten".

Use Sluggo twice a year around the perimeter of the garden to keep it away from veggies.
Tossing salt on them will make them cringe.
