They get wet and will stain the walk. Just blow them into the grass and the guys will chew them up with the mower. Problem solved and happy wife = happy life.

If this causes you two such heartburn, man, you might have bigger fish to fry!
I would bet that there is neither a maid nor a landscaper at all. OP planned to do it Monday and wife wanted it done soon. He told her to pound sand, Monday or do it yourself.

She is not cleaning 3000 sqft house herself.

That's not much of a problem.
I'm a woman. If it were bothering me I would do it myself. I'd probably just clear the driveway and sidewalk.

However, judging by the way you speak about your wife, you have problems you aren't aware of yet.

I would sweep the leaves off the sidewalk so that pedestrians wouldn't have to walk through them. It takes very little effort and time to sweep leaves off a sidewalk, unless they are wet. Even when they're wet, they would not be difficult to remove from the sidewalk using a rake.

Agreed. Calling his wife lazy. Really? When he did not want to sweep it either.

She was pushing me to do it while it was her idea (desire)

I could easily live with it for less than a week if I was expecting my paid grounds keeper.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but this looks like an excellent opportunity to buy yourself a new tool - a leaf blower. Several years ago, the cordless (battery) models were a bit on the weak side, but that may have changed. It's the easiest, fastest way to clean up your property, and since it's likely to annoy both your wife and your neighbors, counts as a triple-win.

You're welcome.
