I haven't gone out for perennials yet this year but the other day I spotted some bright blue bell flowers in the nearby woods. Not knowing if someone owns that vacant land or if it just belongs to the town or ??? I made an excursion today with my dog. Dog stood guard and I pretended to be picking up dog poop but really I snagged one bluebell plant.

I LOVE bluebells. This is a wood hyacinth and it was only two bulbs with lots of roots. I planted it and watered it well. Hope it will take root and come back next spring. There were a lot of them in the woods, crowded actually, so I don't feel too guilty taking one. Next week will be the big trip to the perennial farm.

In self defense as most gardeners know that gophers love garden plants, so I planted all my tubers of dahlias, Lily’s, glads, in pots . They are all coming up nicely in just two weeks. Have also planted hydrangeas, hibiscus , hollyhocks , coneflowers and naked ladies. It’s been a rainy mild spring so far . Hoping we will not get to hot or worry about wildfires again this summer.
