I would like to include some hanging plants in my sunroom. It is just very difficult to water indoor hanging plants. I have seen a u tube video about a plant pully to raise and lower a hanging plant to allow for watering and general care of the plant. It is supposed to handle up to 33 pounds.
If you have used this kind of product did it meet your expectations? Pros and Cons?
I have two on my front porch and I really like the convenience of not having to lift a heavy watering can that high to water the plants. Mine hold about 12 inch hanging planters and I can't imagine one that would handle a 33 lb. weight, but I suppose that's possible. Keep in mind that whatever weight is suspended from it will have to be lifted back into place after you lower it to water, and maneuvered just a little to get it to catch. It can be a little tricky (mine are not round, but flat like a tape, and must go back into the pulley housing at the right angle) but it's worth the effort. I've had mine up for several years and don't take them in during the winter, so they're fairly durable. You can often find them at garden centers and big box stores that carry gardening supplies and they're not very expensive, though I don't remember what I paid for mine.
Thank you. I think I will consider getting a few. Indoor plants can get pretty heavy if they are fairly large and you add a decorative pot to catch the water into the mix. I like the idea of being able to pull it down to water and care for the plant and then move it back up higher.
