After looking at the two tallest trees I decided to do the shorter (9') one. I think the taller (15') one would be to hard to dig up and move.

I will start digging out my hole for the tree in a few weeks. My soil is hard and full of rocks. I want to dig it out bigger than what is recommended and let it get rained on prior to actually planting in a few months. Hopefully this will soften the surrounding soil. I will use tree and shrub dirt for the actual planting soil.

Are there any other things that I could do to be prepared?
