I have a couple of very large boston ferns in plastic hanging baskets on my front porch. We have had temperatures down into the high 20's but my ferns are still green (although they are losing leaves).
Do you think the damage has already been done or can I save the ferns? Can I cut the ferns all the way back and put in plastic bags in a storage room? I really don't want to bring them in the house since they are messy. The storage room is not temperature controlled but it is protected from wind, etc.
